Turning Over an Old Leaf

Woo-hoo! I get to retire! What the heck am I talkin' about? I am passing the Mommy Torch, that's what! Still confused? Just call me GRANNY--how's that? That's right, you heard me, GRANNY! Glorie's havin' a baby, Glorie's havin' a baby and I'm doin' the Granny Dance! No more pain and torture for me! I can have babies in the house for another 20 years and I won't gain a pound! How cool is that? Seriously, though, I am very happy for her and intend to support her 100%! So, she moved back home just in time! And she came to the right place, that's for sure! This is Babyland, right? Today is her first official doctor's appointment and she is due approximately January 26. Maybe God is finally sending the BOY I didn't get, huh? Cirroc, much like Glen, has been goin' crazy to have a little brother for a long time. We actually thought he was going to serve as big brother to my niece's baby--also a long awaited boy--who was born on the same day as Karenina. Sadly, though, God called Little Billy DeWayne, Jr. home last week. It has been difficult for me, though not as difficult as for Shannetta. She is such a sweet girl and my favorite of all the nieces I inherited (shhh). My heart is with her. So, maybe God will send us a boy. Glorie has been pouring over "name lists" and praying her morning sickness will end! Me, I am gearing up for granniness! Every time we go somewhere, people say, "Are you two sisters?" And I proudly say that she is my daughter--not proud to be perceived as young, just proud of my Glorie, who will always be my sweet, little girl no matter how big she gets...and, boy, is she about to get BIG! (Just teasin'!) ( ;
